The Karwendel is an alpine paradise for hikers and cyclists!
The main habitations of Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau interconnected with forest tracks provide numerous possibilities of scenic routes. Overlooking the vast plains of the Upper Isar Valley, several mountain ranges join together: the Karwendel, referred to as one of the most beautiful massifs of the Northern Alps, the impressive Wetterstein, the stunning Soiern peak, as well as the charming Ester Mountain. Nestled amongst these peaks you will discover numerous spectacular lakes and streams. Hikers, bikers and cyclists are invited to make full use of an almost unlimited network of trails and paths that all expose you to breathtaking scenery.
COMPANIONS FOR YOUR HIKING TOUR
As one of the many included services that Kranzbach offers, we can provide you with hiking rucksacks and poles. Our new rucksacks have an adjustable waist belt, padded backs and practical storage compartments as well as slots for your headphones. The spacious main compartment provides storage for your water bottle, jacket and snacks. Now you can spontaneously decide to go hiking! You can collect your rental hiking rucksack at the reception free of charge.
E-Bike rental in Kranzbach. We have available for you (for a charge) top quality and well-serviced e-bikes:
- E-bikes from the brand Cube Explore the hills around the hotel with ease.
- Helmets, rucksacks, water bottles and touring maps are available free of charge.
- NEW to our activity program – guided E-Bike tours. Our guide Alfred will not only take care selecting the right route for you and providing you with a memorable experience; they will also give you valuable tips on E-bike specific riding techniques along the way. To make the most of your tour the numbers are limited. The tours last approximately 3 hours. The evening before the tour, the E-MTB will be set up for you, you will receive instruction on how to use it and the selected route will be discussed.
- Please wear robust footwear and wear/ bring with you suitable clothing for changing weather conditions. We recommend wearing padded bike shorts.

Our outdoor guide Alfred is passionate outdoor enthusiast and are therefore best suited to take our guests on selected E-mountain bike and hiking tours. He looks forward to show you the beauty of the region, using a selection of good quality paths, whilst taking consideration for the environment and the ability of the group.
NEW: Picnic service for your outdoors adventure
Do you want to make your next hike a memorable experience? Or transform a little walk into a romantic adventure? All around DAS KRANZBACH you will find gorgeous locations with stunning views – open expanses, deep in the forest or on a sun-filled opening in the woods. Our picnic rucksack inclusive of blanket is the perfect accompaniment to spend unforgetable hours with your companion. Enjoy our selection of speck, cheese, vegetables, fruit and alcohol-free drinks, which we will prepare especially for your trip. As desired, the selection can also be prepared for vegans and vegetarians. For special occasions (e.g. birthday surprises, anniversaries etc.) we can also include a bottle of Sect or a good bottle of wine! Alcoholic drinks can be ordered as required from our wine menu (not included in the base price).
This special holiday experience can be booked at the reception at a price of €30 (the contents is suitable for 2 pax.). A deposit of €20 will be charged and given back on return of the rucksack. Please book the picnic no later than 21:00 on the day before the trip.
